All Dyno tuning is done in our purpose built dyno cell housing our 4wd Dynapack Dynamometer – installed with two 1.5meter diameter extraction fans and .7m diameter radiator cooling fan to maximize engine cooling and engine power repeatability as well as technician safety due to the rapid change of air in the dyno cell.

Dyno Check List:

When your vehicle is dropped off we’ll have one of our technicians give it the once over before it is fitted to the Dyno. Below is a list of common issues that crop up from time to time. We understand it can be a big investment for you in terms of time and money and we want this to be a positive experience. When you take the below points into account, you’ll be ensuring we get off to the best start.

  • The engine has the correct level of oil, the oil is fresh and it has new oil filter

  • All other fluid levels have been checked (eg coolant, gearbox and diff)

  • The fuel in your vehicle what you intend to run and there is at least 20 litres in the tank

  • The vehicle has a suitable 02 sensor bung fitted for our wide-band sensor to be installed into. If not, this can be organised prior to vehicle being fitted to the Dyno

  • There are no oil, fuel or water leaks on the vehicle

  • The fuel system capable of supporting expected power levels (fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter and fuel lines)

  • Spark plugs have been checked or replaced which we highly recommend

  • Air filter is clean or has been replaced

  • All hose clamps are tight on the intercooler piping and joiners

Another commonly overlooked problem is the condition of your clutch. A slipping clutch will halt your tuning, so if your clutch is older and needs replacing we recommend replacing it before your tune. If you are aiming for decent power out of your car, then look into fitting an upgraded clutch that can handle more than a factory item. Just let us know and we’ll advise on what would be suitable, we can also supply and fit the new clutch before the tune.

It is also a good idea to let us know some history of the motor (if known). What internals it is running (standard/forged etc) so we have an idea of what it can handle.
